Brief Itinerary

Day-1

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and city tour

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia. You'll be greeted at the airport and escorted to 4* hotel. After lunch take a city tour to Gandan Monastery where you will see a huge gold plated Buddha, a symbol of Mongolian national pride and cultural revival, Ulaanbaatar city museum, Central Square, and National Museum of Mongolia  where you will see artifacts from Mongolia and Central Asia from the Stone Age to present time. Overnight in the hotel. (L+D) (Approx. paved road 50 km)

Day-2

Terelj National Park and visit Chinggis Khaan statue
After breakfast, drive to Giant Chinggis Khaan statue. The statues in total is 40m high and see as far sighted Chinggis Khaan holds a golden whip in his right hand. On the way, visit to Tonyukuk, a Turkic inscribed monument of the Turkic State (6th – 7th Centuries A.D).  The Terelj National Park incorporates parts of Khentii Mountain Range. You'll explore the extraordinary formation of rocks and stones; some of them look quite similar to turtles and horse riding. Overnight in tourist camp. Day-3

See Takhi, the Asian wild horse & Ungut man monuments
Early morning drive to Hustai National Park. You can see many historical there are many historical monument ensemble of Ungut- famous with it is a large number of man like figures, which belongs to 6-8 th century AD and many other sepultures, rectangular tombs.  On the way, see Takhi, the Asian wild horse. If you have a chance, see wolf, argali sheep and deer. Enjoy small hiking and photographing the charming landscape and wildlife. Visit Takhi's information center and overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D)  (Approx. paved road 170 km, 3 hours)

Day-4

Ugii Lake & visit nomad family
After breakfast, drive to Ugii Lake (altitude 1387 m; surface area—25 sq. km). When you visit the lake, you will have an opportunity to take a boat tour and do some birding. We will visit a local horsemen family where you have an opportunity to experience their way of life, their culture and traditions. Dinner is real authentic Mongolian barbecue, prepared in the traditional style with hot stones. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D) (Approx. paved road 260 km, 4-5 hours)

Day-5

Erdenezuu and Karakorum
After breakfast at the tourist camp, drive to Karakorum, the symbolic ruins of the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire. On the way, you will see Khusuu Tsaidam, a Turkic inscribed monument of the Turkic State (6th – 8th Centuries A.D). Visit Erdene-Zuu, the oldest monastery, with 108 stupas, built in 1586. Then visit Karakorum museum and see the Great Mongol state period, Stone Age, Bronze Age, Ancient state period halls. Overnight in tourist camp by Orkhon River. (B+L+D) (Approx. paved road 75 km, 1.5 hours)

Day-6

Ongi Temple Ruins

After breakfast, we will drive to Ongi Temple ruins which used to have about thousand lamas. This is a ruin of a big monastery Bari Yonzon Hamba on the bank of Ongi river. Ongi Temple once was one of the biggest temples in Mongolia but destroyed by The Stalinist repression in 1930’s. After lunch, visit Meditation cave of Buddhist monks (3 km). Optional sauna and body massage is available. Overnight in the tourist camp. (B+L+D) (Approx. dirt road 250 km, 4-5 hours)

Day-7

Bayanzag, the land of the Dinosaurs
After breakfast, we will drive to Bayanzag, (known as the Flaming Cliffs where the first nest of dinosaur eggs were ever discovered in 1922) a site famous for the remains of the Dinosaurs which lived there 60 million years ago. What a chance to walk around where the Dinosaurs once roamed and also get to know saxaul trees and other classic desert vegetation! On the way, see interesting Havtsgait petroglyphs.  In the evening, photo shoots the flaming cliffs & watch a documentary about this wonderful place. Overnight in tourist camp. Day-8

Mongolian largest sand dunes and camel ride

In the early morning, drive to Khongor sand dunes. Morning, climb to Khongor sand dunes with a panoramic view of the nature. These are Mongolia's largest sand dunes, reaching a height of 300 meters in some areas. After lunch, visit a camel herdsman family to experience their lifestyle, culture and traditions. You will be riding a camel to explore the Uujim valley for 2-3 hours. The two-humped Bactrian camels are very comfortable to ride as they walk slowly and gently, and you will be well supported by the humps, sitting comfortably in between them. Our camel guide will lead you safely through the sand dunes. The sand dunes change color with each hour of the day, from yellow to silver to rose-color (at sunrise or sunset). In the evening, chance to stargaze in the Gobi. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D) (Approx. dirt road 160 km, 3 hours)  

Day-9

Eagle valley
Today’s destination is Yolyn Am, or ‘Eagle Valley’. Take a trip to Yol Am and Dungene valley – hike to wonderfully picturesque place with ice in summer, and surrounded by sheer rocky walls, forming incredible canyons. Enjoy small hiking and photographing the charming landscape and wildlife. Visit Gobi museum. These areas are situated in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park that encompasses the "Three Beauties" peaks and the most easterly points of the Altai Mountains. Overnight in tourist camp. (B+L+D) (Approx. dirt road 200 km, 4 hours)  

Day-10

Fly back to Ulaanbaatar and city tour

After breakfast you will have a flight back to Ulaanbaatar. Optional visit to Narantuul market and visit Bogd Khan Palace, which is a series of beautiful traditional buildings, where the last religious King of Mongolia resided. You may choose an optional city tour where you will be taken to souvenir and cashmere shops before enjoying an evening concert of National Folklore. Overnight at the hotel. (B+L+D) (Approx. air 560 km, 1.5 hour & paved road 50 km)

Day-11

Departure from Mongolia

After breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to the airport. (B) (Approx. paved road 25 km, 20 min)
