With a rich turbulent history, varied ethnically cultural influences, the biggest lakes and wild mountains, the western region of Mongolia provides an wonderful environment and experience quite unlike any other. This trip takes you through three big provinces: Uvs, Bayan-Ulgii and Gobi-Altai and focuses on the most scenic sections of Western Mongolia, renowned for their famous eternally snowy peaks, majestic scenery and wild nature and various ethnic groups: Kazak, Durvud, Uriankhai, Torguud. Hike to the magnificent Altai Tavan Bogd,  Kharkhiraa mountains and Tsagaan Gol glacier, explore the famous Gurvan Tsenkher cave, discover the various nomadic people and their culture and enjoy relaxing in remote wild nature. Brief Itinerary

Day 1.

Arrive in Ulaanbaatar
Sightseeing around Ulaanbaatar such as National Museum, Palace Museum of Bogd King, Zaisan memorial hill, Sukhbaatar’s square. Overnight in hotel. (L+D)

Day 2

Fly to Ulaangom 
Meet a local driver at the airport Ulaangom. Visit to the biggest lake Uvs. Hike around the lake, photographing and free bird watching. Overnight in tent. (B+L+D)

Day 3-4

Drive to Kharkhiraa Mountain.
Wonder the pristine nature beauty. If we are lucky, we might see some of the endangered animals. Overnight in tourist ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 5

Drive to Bayan-Ulgii province.
Visit the most interesting local museum of Ulgii. Visit a handicraft shop and explore the Ulgii. Overnight in hotel. (B+L+D)

Day 6

Drive to Tsagaan Gol or Potanina glacier.
Admire the nature beauty. Get support of camels to go ahead. Trek for 11km to the base camp area at the edge of Potanina glacier. Overnight in tent. (B+L+D)

Day 7-8

Altai Tavan Bogd National Park
Full day trek through Altai Mountains. See the biggest burial from the period of the Huns (approx 200 B.C). Relax after the hard trekking. Overnight in tent. (B+L+D)

Day 9

Visit to a Kazak nomad family
On the way and experience their nomadic way of the life. See their hunter eagles. Interest how Kazakh women are making felt and other handy crafts. Overnight in tourist ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 10

Drive to Khovd province.
Admire the attractive view of majestic mountains on the way. Break the trip near the sheer Tolbo Lake and free hiking there. Overnight in tourist ger camp. (B+L+D)

Day 11

Drive to Khar-Us lake and Gurvan Tsenkher cave.
Explore the famous Garvan Tsenkher cave and see the ancient drawings on the wall. Visit to fresh Khar-Us lake. Overnight in local hotel. (B+L+D)

Day 12

Fly to Ulaanbaatar
International Intellectual museum, shopping for souvenirs, cashmere and woolen products, Mongolian traditional folklore concert. Overnight in hotel. (B+L+D)

Day 13

Departure
You will be transferred to the airport. (B)
